Ready to Enhance Your Practice?

Join Cynthia for a deep dive into the McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® technique and unlock a new realm of healing for your clients. With practical, hands-on learning and a certification to boot, this course is a solid investment in your professional growth and the wellness of your patients.

What is the format of the course?

Most classes are one full day and are very hands-on. We start with a short overview of the science behind scar tissue, safety and contraindications, then move quickly into demonstrations and supervised practice. You’ll both give and receive work, with plenty of time for questions, case discussions, and integrating MSTR® into the work you already do.

Dates and locations are listed in the schedule at the top of this page and on the registration button for each class. Most in-person days run approximately 9:00am–5:00pm local time with a lunch break. Live-online classes follow the same structure and are listed in Arizona/Mountain Time unless otherwise noted—please double-check the time zone when you register.

Tuition for each class is listed next to the course date. As a guide, current tuition is:

• MSTR® Level 1 (Regular): $410
• MSTR® Level 2: $262
• MSTR® Refresher / Resit: $102
• Art of Bodywork® Level 1: $619 early-bird, $669 regular.

Any future price changes will always be shown on the registration form before you submit payment.

Yes. The listed tuition includes all class materials, administrative fees, and normal credit-card / processing fees. There are no surprise add-on charges from me. If a refund is required because eligibility requirements are not met, the third-party card/processing portion may be non-refundable.

Yes. If you prefer not to use a credit card, please reach out. In many cases we can accept Zelle, check, or bank transfer (for U.S. students). Your seat is confirmed once payment has cleared. Just email info@cynshine.net and let me know which class and date you’re interested in, and we’ll set it up manually.

When a class is approved for Continuing Education, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion showing the contact hours once you have:

• Attended the full class, and
• Participated in all required practical sections.

You’ll then submit that certificate to your board or licensing body. Approval rules vary by state, country and profession, so please check with your board in advance if you have questions about CE acceptance.

In Level 1 you’ll learn:

• The theory behind MSTR® and how scars can influence pain, movement, posture and the nervous system.
• When MSTR® is indicated—and when it is not.
• How to assess a scar and document changes.
• The step-by-step MSTR® protocol for many common scars.
• How to integrate the work safely into your existing practice and educate clients about what to expect.

Higher levels and Art of Bodywork® build on this with more advanced applications, assessments and clinical reasoning.

Scars are the visible marks left after an injury or surgery has healed. Adhesions are the “hidden” internal sticking and binding that can develop in the fascia and deeper tissues around that area. Both can change the way forces move through the body, sometimes affecting movement, organ motility, or the nervous system. MSTR® is designed to work gently with both the surface scar and the underlying adhesions to help tissues move and glide more freely.

You’re always welcome to contact me directly:

• Email: info@cynshine.net
• Website contact form: Cynshine® – The Healing Place (Contact page).

If your question is specifically about MSTR® certification rules, you can also contact MSTR® Home Office through their website, and we’ll work together to make sure you get accurate information.

For MSTR® Level 1:

1. Attend the full class (in-person or live online) and demonstrate safe, competent hands-on skills.
2. Complete the required practice sessions on your own clients.
3. Submit the requested case-study documentation and/or online quiz to MSTR® Home Office.
4. Once everything is approved, you’ll receive your official MSTR® Practitioner certificate.

The exact requirements for Level 2 and Art of Bodywork® are explained during class and in your follow-up materials.

No. You can attend either in-person or live-online, depending on what works best for your schedule, travel, and learning style. Both options cover the same material and are taught by a certified MSTR® Instructor. That said, some people find it easier to learn hands-on work when they can be in the same room with the instructor, so choose the format that feels best for you.

Yes—whenever it’s possible for you. In-person training allows me to see and correct very small details in your touch, body mechanics, and client positioning. You also get to feel the work on your own body from multiple classmates, which can deepen your understanding. If travel is difficult, the live-online format is still an excellent, very interactive way to learn MSTR®.

Yes. Live-online students receive direct feedback. We’ll help you set up your camera so I can clearly see your hands and your model. During practice sessions I move from screen to screen to coach you, answer questions, and fine-tune your technique—very much like walking around the treatment room in an in-person class.

Please ask! You can raise your hand, un-mute your microphone, or use the chat box in an online class. In person, you can stop me at any time for clarification or extra demonstration. If questions come up later while you’re practicing on clients, you’re also welcome to email me for guidance.

Because this is a hands-on training, full attendance is important. If you already know that you will need to miss a portion of the day, please email me before registering so we can look at options.

If an unexpected situation arises and you miss up to about an hour, we can often review the material with you and make sure you’re safe to continue. Missing more than that may mean rescheduling into a future class so you receive the full training and can meet certification requirements.

In general, tuition is non-refundable once your seat is reserved, because class sizes are intentionally kept small.

If I need to cancel or reschedule a class, you’ll be offered a full transfer to a new date or a refund.

If you register and later discover that you do not meet the eligibility requirements set by MSTR® Home Office, we’ll work with you to either move your tuition to another appropriate training, or issue a refund minus any non-refundable bank/credit-card fees that have already been charged.

Yes. If you have previously taken an official MSTR® Level 1 course but never completed certification, you are welcome to return at the current Refresher / Resit tuition rate (listed on the schedule). This gives you a full review of the material, updated teaching, and a fresh opportunity to complete your case studies and requirements.

Yes. Certified MSTR® Practitioners are encouraged to revisit the class when they’d like a tune-up, extra confidence, or to experience how the material has evolved. You’re welcome to join again at the Refresher / Resit rate listed for that course date. Many practitioners find that repeating the class deepens their understanding and makes it easier to integrate MSTR® into more complex cases.
